Teaching People the Word of God

Breaking the Ties that Bind(2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Ephesians 6:10-17)

Royce Robinson, October 8, 2017
Part of the Set the Captives Free series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

As we continue our series Set the Captives Free, Pastor Royce Robinson teaches from 2 Corinthians and Ephesians. Many past experiences both good and bad can cause a stronghold to form. The only way we can be set free from our strongholds and free our minds is to submit to God and remove those deeply rooted issues so we can walk in freedom and the mind of Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. Ephesians 6:10-17

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, (ESV)
