AWANA is a non-denominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. AWANA Clubs International supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12,000 churches in over 110 countries. This message to churches is simple: We are here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose – to win and grow kids for Christ!
Here at Crossover Bible Fellowship, our AWANA ministry works with other ministries to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.
Club meetings are planned around ages and school grades and are broken into three general areas:
Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
Ages 3-4 – Cubbies
Cubbies is unique because it supports parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing. By working directly with their child on the weekly handbook lessons, parents become active participants in their child’s spiritual development.
Grades K-2nd – Sparks
The handbooks feature basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks. A child will recite well over 150 unique verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian Doctrine.
Grades 3rd-6th – Truth and Training
Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
